Is there anybody alive out there tonight?

With the latest tour featuring Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band now underway, my friend and superior Boss fan Stu Levine joined me for a chat on the merits of seeing the band in concert these days. Without doubting the never-ending joy of one of the gang’s marathons, there are other considerations to be had, as suggested by my deep dive into Springsteen last fall.

Let’s jump right in.

Stu: First off, thanks for letting me slay it with you in Slayed. I’m a big fan.

It’s been six years since Bruce and band took the stage (not including a Saturday Night Live appearance), and I’m not the only one who wasn’t entirely sure we’d see that day again. There were no promises of who, or what, would come out of the pandemic OK, and when you’re talking about a group of fellas (and Patti Scialfa) who are each north of collecting Social Security, there are no guarantees.
