AM radio! Remember that time, cruising down the highway, when we heard that song that changed our lives? Remember at night, when you could catch a ballgame from a thousand miles away? Remember the glory days of a simpler time?
Or, if you’re half my age, none of that?
For me, AM radio brings back memories of family rides in our 1964 Ford Falcon, of my introduction to rock via stations like 93 KHJ, of “you give us 22 minutes and we’ll give you the world” on KFWB 980, and Michael Jackson (the original), Dr. Toni Grant and, of course, the Dodgers on KABC 790.
But AM radio has been dying a slow death for a number of years now, since the 1960s when it was just about the only game in town.
